Tell us what you think about sexual health services in your area

People across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) are being asked about sexual health services in their area.

20 June 2022

The Sexual Health Needs Assessment survey, which launches today (Monday 20 June), is the first phase of public engagement to help gain insight into how people use and view sexual health services in the region. The survey is completely anonymous and only takes 10 to 15 minutes to complete. It is also open to people who have never used sexual health services before.

Councillor Ellie King, Cabinet member with responsibility for Public Health and Communities, said: “The survey is a quick and easy way for people living in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire to share their thoughts on sexual health services in the region. We are reaching out to health professionals, patients and the public to find out how sexual health services are used and how they might be improved in the future.

“We strongly encourage people from as many different communities as possible, across BNSSG, to take the time to complete the Sexual Health Needs Assessment survey. This will make a huge difference to councils in those areas to understand what the real needs of the community are.”

The Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and councils in BNSSG are responsible for making sure the sexual health services are high quality, and the aim of this survey is to learn from the public’s views to help make improvements.

Dr Peter Brindle, Medical Director for Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “This is a great opportunity to help shape the future of local services. By sharing your views in this anonymous survey, telling us what worked well and where improvements can be made, you’re enabling the best services to be provided for local people.

“We want as many people as possible, from right across the area, to come forward and have their say.”

The survey is live now until Sunday 31 July and can be completed here: Let's talk about Sexual Health - Bristol - Citizen Space.
