Stephen James Smith (The Conservative Party) has been declared an elected councillor for Westbury-on-Trym and Henleaze ward following a by-election held on Thursday 24 May 2018. The result was announced by Shahzia Daya, Returning Officer for Bristol City Council.
Mr Smith was declared the winner of the election following an overnight count that saw 6864 ballots verified by elections staff at the Bradbury Hall Centre, Henleaze.
Mr Smith received 2900 votes, finishing ahead of Graham Christopher Donald (Liberal Democrat) who received 2704 votes after the counting of ballots.
Turnout in the by-election was 44.9 percent.
Mr Smith joins two other councillors as representatives of Westbury-on-Trym and Henleaze ward; Geoff Gollop (The Conservative Party) and Liz Radford (The Conservative Party).
