Throughout the summer months collections have started from 6am rather than 7am, and the council has decided to make this a permanent change.
This gives collection crews more time to get round all properties and will hopefully lead to less missed collections and less congestion on the roads.
Councillor Steve Pearce, Cabinet Member with responsibility for waste and recycling, said: “As Bristol recycles more and wastes less we are asking residents to present their bins and boxes an hour earlier all year round.
“We are proud of all the work being done across the city to reduce waste and increase recycling, but we know there is always more that can be done.
“The new time of 6am has been working well throughout the summer, with very few complaints from residents about noise from collection crews.
“I would like to thank Bristol residents for supporting our efforts to recycle more and waste less.”
