High tides expected tomorrow morning

High tides are expected in Bristol tomorrow morning which might lead to flooding on low lying roads near the river.

Bristol City Council’s Highways, Traffic, Marine Services and Civil Protection Unit teams will be closely monitoring the situation, particularly around the outbound lane on the Portway, Cattlemarket Road and Crews Hole Road which may experience flooding between 7:30am and 8:30 am tomorrow (Wednesday 3 January).

The highest tide is expected at 7:55am tomorrow and traffic management measures will be implemented if required. People travelling through low lying areas near the river between these hours are encouraged to seek alternative routes.

You can keep up-to-date with the situation via the Environment Agency website https://flood-warning-information.service.gov.uk/warnings or the Met Office via http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/.

Any residents who experience flooding should call the council’s control centre on 0117 922 2050.
