Bristol City Council snow update, Friday 1 Feb. 8.30am

All priority roads have been gritted and are operating this morning. Side roads and pavements may remain difficult and people are asked to take extra care.

Bristol City Council’s school closures website is up to date and showing more than half of Bristol schools are closed today. We apologise for some delay to the system very early this morning, which is being resolved.

In the interest of public and staff safety, Bristol Waste will not operate roadside refuse and recycling collections today.  Household waste recycling centres will remain closed.

Grit drops to the city’s 145 snow wardens will take place throughout the day. Yellow grit bins have all been filled but people can report empty grit bins via Bristol City Council’s website, on the home page.

First Bus is reporting some reduced services in out of town areas, but city centre routes are operating. Passengers are advised to check the First Bus website and social media: Facebook – search First West of England, Twitter @FirstBSA

All residents are asked to take extra care on the roads and pavements, avoid unnecessary journeys and to check in on elderly or vulnerable neighbours.
